OA @ Yale
The students at Yale have created a site to help forward their goal of expanding Open Access at this venerable institution by creating an institutional repository and encouraging broader understanding among faculty. Check it out.
Librarians and students at Yale are working closely with this team to create Open Access Week events and we are happy to have them on board.

Now online - UMich’s March Open Access Week: Lessons and Ideas
On April 30, Molly Kleinman from the University of Michigan Library talked about why the library decided a comprehensive program on Open Access was important, how the team secured administrative support and funding, how they attracted faculty, students, and others to events across campus, what they learned and would do differently next time, what “Copyright Jeopardy” is, exactly, and share her thoughts in general. Viewing the Webcast (which you can reach after first registering using this form) is recommended for all who plan to or may celebrate Open Access Week in October.

New social tagging project for real time OA developments
A new project called the Open Access Tracking Project (OATP) has been established, whereby any new items relating to OA are tracked via Connotea – Nature’s open source social bookmarking service. Any new items relating to OA are tagged with the tag “oa.new”.
One key reason for establishing the tracking project, and making the OATP the comprehensive source of OA news, is that there’s so much happening now. Peter Suber and others will now be bookmarking and tagging items in this way - a de-duplicated feed has been created (using Yahoo’s Pipes service) and there are different ways of subscribing to it.
