"Two suggestions: 1) Ask the YouTube video producers to change the license from Standard YouTube to Creative Commons Attribution (which then also allows for easy remixing on YouTube) 2) Download the video using a service like Peggo"

Redefining Impact

For Open Access Week, I've written an essay on Planeta.com and requested comments on my blog.If there are any takeaways from previous efforts in opening and sharing access to information is that what is most effective is the most widely understood. Wonky weasel words don’t cut it. Meaningful interaction with knowledge requires that we…See More

Nick Shockey commented on Ron Mader's blog post Translating 'Set the default to open'
"I think the translation project would be a great Hackathon. Since your title is last year's theme you may try looking up past events from those regions. As for font the words International OPEN ACCESS WEEK are Myriad Pro bold."

What's the level of OA awareness where you are?
Low
What are your goals for OA Week 2016?
I'd like to learn the basics and acquaint myself with the ideas. In particular I work with international organizations, academics and marginalized indigenous communities who share serious questions about protecting legal rights. I have no clue how to translate the ideas I've heard about OA so that it would make sense to colleagues.

For background on my work and interests, here's the workshop I led in 2012 at the global Biodiversity Convention http://planeta.wikispaces.com/cop11web

Also, here's the Planeta Wiki page about Open Access

How did you hear of the OA Week site?

Translating 'Set the default to open'

Greetings, all! I have two big questions for the Open Access community:

1) What type font does Open Access use in its logo? If possible, I'd like to match it in some of the fan art I'm making for the big week.

2) How do you translate the seminal phrase 'Set the default to open' in other languages? I'd like to start with Spanish ('Establecer el valor predeterminado a abierto') but I…
