- Council of Scientific & Industrial research (CSIR) one of the premier institutions engaged in R&D activities in different aspects of S&T has adopted OA policy with a few mandates, the major being to make its journls OA and to set up interoperable Institutional Repositories (IR) at all its 37 labs with a central harvester. A high level 5 member expert committee has been constituted to frame policies, guidelines and other related issues. I am also a member of this experts' committee.
We are celebrating the International OA week during 24th to 30th October 2011 by way of putting up promotional posters, Road shows on 'OA', play video clips and have arranged effective Lectures by Prof. Balarama, a top Indian Scientist and Director of India's most prestigious institution, The Indian Institute of Science. Prof. Balarama has been advocating OA policies and is on the editorial board of National and International Journal Committees.
You can give some more inputs to celebrate this effective concept.
