Have you ever wondered what GIS is and how it can be incorporated into your research using open-source tools and public data. If so, this workshop is for you. We’ll explore different open-source options for accessing GIS data, working with it, and sharing your results openly with visualizations. From historic hand-drawn maps and measurements, to modern day satellite imagery and sensors, these data, and the tools to work with them openly, are available to help explain our world.
